Oh the Excrutiating closeness of it all...

So, I've been hunting for a job for the past couple of months or so (I'm still with Interior) and as some of you may know, I had a job interview about a month ago that lasted for a hour and a half but I hadn't heard back about it. Well, I received this e-mail today.

Joy, Thank you so much for the time you took to come out to Herndon and interview with me for the HR Specialist position. I truly enjoyed meeting you and talking about your very interesting work and educational history. I think you will make an excellent professional in whatever career track you take. If not for losing our funding for the third vacancy in our office I would be making you a job offer. The first two vacancies were already committed when we met. I thought for sure that the third was a “done deal” but at the last minute a reorganization within the Department has affected our funding.

If there is anything I can do to help with your job search please do not hesitate to call upon me. Good luck and take care! Polly

So, I nearly cried out of fustration when I read this. So, close but again the federal government has denied me. Anyway, now about 6 hours later I'm okay with it. If they nearly hired me someone else will. And I can be hired in the next couple of months without competition by any agency in the federal government. There's a place for me somewhere!

And my subject title is dramatic.
