There's a hole in the world tonight

For those of you who have been to my house, this photo may be a bit of a surprise. Our hedge was formally all the size of the bush on the right. We're thinking of either cutting it all out or trimming the two hedges left to the same size and then regularly take the ivy, kudzu, blackberry briars, wisteria etc out. Oh, we'll dispose of those branches too. Sara did a great job (she really did).

In other house news, we've got a homeless guy living directly across the street. He's been evicted twice in the past week by the cops, but he keeps coming back. Yes, we keep our doors and windows locked.

In still other news, I really jacked my ankle up again (same ankle i tore a couple of ligaments in) playing soccer yesterday. Oh well, at least I'm not on crutches.

I usually have every other Friday off (i say usually, because sometimes i have a meeting, there's a holiday etc etc), and today was the lucky day. At my house, I'm usually dish girl. I don't mind it at all, and since kell "deep cleans" frequently..it works out. Well, I started doing the dishes this morning after not even touching the sink for a few days, I looked down and thought...when did our dish disposal turn blue......

Puzzling eh? I thought so. It was the perfect shape to get wedged in perfectly. I played with it for a while...and got most of the water out of the cup (the water was making it harder to pull out)..and then yelled for Sara who had a snow day because of my fear of garbage disposals. She messed with it for a while and was able to use the "jaws of life" and break it out (a couple of screw drivers and pliers).
