Awards Guru
I've been working at the new job for 9 days now and the change has been drastic even though I only moved one floor down (i'm still in the same corridor) My random observations:
a) being required to answer questions about inane govt policy is difficult if you don't know anything
b) I still answer the phones "Good Morning (afternoon) department of Interior, Office of Communications, this is Joy"
c) I still get crazy callers. I was asked today the policy about overtime for mechanics at Jiffy Lube
d) if I don't recycle, I get lectured about throwing away newspapers and am threatened that I won't get my trash picked up ever again. I didn't know recycling was mandatory.
e) having a cubicle is kind of liberating.
f) having a cublicle is lonely.
g) being an awards coordinator is a big job.
h) i get to go to a teleconference seminar in Crystal City in September.
i) i was told today that everyone on the hall is asking who is that little girl and isn't she in highschool? Seriously.
j) every other friday off!
All in all, there's a big learning curve but life is good. The job is good.

so what IS the overtime rule at Jiffy Lube?
every other friday off??? are there any other openings there???
Awards Coordinator, so that's the official title now adays, huh?
Perhaps some decoration of the cubicle is in order, that way it could still be liberating, but not lonely. Especially if you have little troll dolls to talk to.
