Thank you for tagging me for this one. I've been procastinating it, but here goes:
1) I can't close my left eye voluntarily. I can blink, but I don't have any control of just my left eye. Over the years, this has been more of a joke, but kind of a pain. I know its genetic, my younger brother and mom have the same problem (I should ask my cousins if any of them have this problem). The difference between me and them is, I'm right handed and can't close my left eye. My brother is right handed and can't close his right eye. My mom is left handed and can't close her left eye. So, I'm the one that has had to learn certain things left handed (i do some things just as well left handed as i do right, so it isn't a real problem) but when people notice it over the years, its kind of funny. Yes, I shoot a rifle with or without a scope left handed.
2) I really like old movies....and when I say really like, it means I've read biographies, and have seen many, many old movies. Not just the standards, some of my favorites are movies that were on AMC years ago and aren't even in dvd or vhs.
3) I was a spelling bee champ. In fourth grade (the spelling bee is 4th through 8th) I took 2nd place, I believe at the school spelling bee and made it half way through the district spelling bee. In 5th grade, I took 1st place at the school and 2nd in the district, losing to the girl who won the state spelling bee and went to the national bee. I lost on the word pyramid.....some how. Anyway, I practiced several hours each day after school with my parents and was a brat about it sometimes, but they stuck with me. Being the alternate at the state spelling book, I remember getting that book and being glad I probably didn't have to compete at that level. In 6th grade, I started playing basketball (I hadn't played basketball before), and didn't spend the time studying. I think I was a semifinalist in the district bee that year.
4) My Uncle is the UVSC rodeo coach. He also was a pro cowboy for 10 years, and according to Sports Illustrated, he's one of the top pro atheletes the state of Utah has produced. Here's a photo.
5) When I was four years old, my pediatrician declared to my mother that I was going to be obese all my life. My mom, being a registered dietician was angry at this pronouncement, my dad knew that his kids would be playing sports...Now, its a family joke.

Another minor correction to your recollection. Your mother is left handed, but can not voluntarily singly close her right eye without distorting her face!
Wow. You and Rich are so alike its scary!
;)
Spelling is one of the hardest things for me to do! Props to you on that skill! I love old movies as well, have you seem My Sister Irene, or that movie where Kathryn Hepburn is almost eaten by killer ants in Africa but gets saved by...Charelston Heston? Two good, weird ones. :) Only on AMC. I wonder where they came up with all the ideas for these movies!
I love old movies too...Tracy and Hepburn are some of my favorites.
I just cant shut my mouth
I like my sister irene. Hmm, I really like the African Queen with Katharine Hepburn. That's a great film.
Tracy and Hepburn. Love those two! So much chemistry.
