My throat of many colors

When my younger brother was about 4 he had his tonsils removed. I remember being so jealous I couldn't see straight. You see, he got a sesame street magazine, a care bear (I never got a care bear when I was a kid), lots of popsicles and attention. Mostly I wanted to read his sesame street magazine (he couldn't quite read yet) and be coddled (not cuddled). Flash forward 20 years later. I've been diagnosed with strep throat at least 6 times in the past 2 years, including this afternoon. The doctor at the urgent care clinic told me, find a "real" doctor after I told her how many times I've had strep in the past year. (she didn't say those words exactly). What's that generic phrase...just be careful you might get what you wished for?

(Mom, I had a wonderful childhood even without a carebear. :) )
