This morning the DC region woke to their first "significant" (an inch is predicted) of snow of the season. I thought about bringing my camera and tramping around, but since I'm still on antibiotics for a sixweek long sinus infection, I opted to do a Flickr Tour and found some pictures taken around the area. So here is your quick virtual tour of DC when it snows. All but the first picture is taken less than a half mile from where I work.
Salt h20- Definitely. In February, its depressing to me too.
Jules-yeah, we make sure people see the memorials at night. I like the statues of the Korean Memorial but the monument as a whole is too much like Vietnam. There's a special feeling over on that side of the mall though.

It's beautiful. Of course, I think pictures like this are beautiful in December, and depressing in Feb.
Stunning pictures. I have only been in DC in the summer but now I want to see it blanketed in snow, at least until the snow turns to slush.
I just got really really homesick!!
(I'm going to be posting some wordless pics in a few minutes.)
The Korean War memorial is my favorite. Best viewed at night--I felt compelled to be reverent there.
I guess those ducks need to paddle a little faster before they wind up like the other guys.
That perspective of the Korean War memorial is fantastic.
God bless.
Right on Jules. I came here specifically to post the exact same thing.
Nice photos.
Get better soon, Joy!!!
love the photos. i really am drawn to pics with freshly fallen snow.
