Before Jack and Meg, there was Dusty

Apparently there's going to be a Dusty Springfield biopic out with Nicole Kidman attached to play the lead. Bring it!

Hmmm, I'm not sure Kidman has the soul or sexual tension in her look and voice to play this role. But who knows.

As much as I love music, I'm thinking more and more that the music of the 00's will almost entirely be forgotten in 10 years. Only a handful of bands, which will be treated like saints, will be revered. They just don't make music like they used to that are timeless and just plain good.

Yeah, I'm skeptical about Kidman playing that role--but maybe she can pull it off. Maybe.

Those songs are great to watch. Yeah, as far as the 00s and music--I think some of the "Indy" scene is going to be remembered, but the stuff on commercial radio? No. By and large no.

Dusty is a bit before your time isn't she???

I don't think Nicole has a raspy enough voice to pull off Dusty.

"Son of a Preacher Man," "I only want to be with you?" I may not have been around when they were hits, but I remember hearing those songs and the name Dusty Springfield when I was a kid.

I think a biopic on dusty will bring well deserved attention to a kind of forgotten singer-that's why I said bring it. Nicole Kidman? I'm skeptical, but she's an Oscar winner.
