And the Knucklehead Award of the Weekend goes to...........

This weekend we spent a couple of days in Nauvoo. On the afternoon of the second day, all I wanted was a nap so while my parents and youngest sibling went to the Joseph Smith site, I curled in the back seat and got some z's. I woke up after a while sweaty, disoriented and a little cooked. I decided to cool down by opening the door and the car horn went off. Alarmed, I closed the door, but the horn still went on. Not wanting to do a repeat performance, I shut the door (why I stayed inside I have no idea-) and continued to cook. Luckily my parents rescued me from the hostage situation about 10 minutes later.

The next day, we were at the St. Louis Zoo and I decided a popsicle sounded good. I went to a stand, bought a superpop, and proceeded to lick the popsicle. Well, the popsicle ripped skin off my upper lip. Never experiencing this before, I proceeded to continue to lick the popsicle like nothing had happened (I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed) and ripped more skin off my lip. Then my mom pointed out to me, "you're bleeding." Sure enough, my lip was bleeding quite a bit. In fact, enough that it detracted from the flavor of the popsicle, but it also dissuaded the other members of my family (food vultures) to even think about wrestling my popsicle from me.

i had a similar hostage situation in a car when i was a teen. the worst part was people walking by me and asking/yelling through the window if i could turn it off. you think i'd sit stupidly in a car with it honking if i could make it stop? sadly my mom didn't rescue me for 20 minutes (she was inside a dmv). more sadly is that i too did not leave the car either.
