I like Nutella as much as the next person (peanutbutter and nutella sandwiches are awesome), but slathering Nutella on healthy food to get kids to eat more nutritious? It's like gobbing salad dressing or mayo on Vegetables. You still get your veggies, and that's good-and getting picky kids to eat healthy is a battle, but naked veggies, with just a little bit of flavoring? Better. Nutella as part of a healthy breakfast? Small amounts of Nutella would fit right in, but........

I could go for a nice, healthy Nutella breakfast right now.
It ranks right up there with Cocoaroos and FruitLoops I guess, although the cereal would have less fat. I'm inclined just to have ice cream for breakfast.
Bren-Yeah, more fat than the sugared cereals (and people like me would be full longer on nutella than cereal), but looks like there's just as much sugar-or close to in Nutella.
You could have nutella on that ice cream, and that would be your nice, healthy nutella breakfast. :)
They stole that idea from me. I've been touting it as a health food to myself for over a year... but now I know I've been delusional! :)
Not only is it a healthful, it is great for your skin; at least that is what I tell myself for bathing it in daily! Nutella was definitely served at the last supper!
Hazel nuts contain healthful monounsaturated fats. However, the Nutella nutrition info I read on line listed all the fat in Nutella as saturated - not good. They are adding a lot of fat besides that in the nuts. It is palm fat, so highly saturated. NO, not a health food. There is more palm fat than hazel nuts in the recipe. I think it tastes like chocolate frosting - with a hint of hazel nuts. LV MOM
Ha ha ha, I thought the same thing when I saw the commericial AND brenda's comments. The new fruit loop commercials espousing the FIBER in the cereal... oh boy.
But now I'm fixin for Nutella.
im a bad dietitian cuz i say whateva - bring on the ice cream for bfast. i do hate health food advertising though....where are the asparagus commercials? broccoli commercials? I know why there arent any: people don't need to be convinced that vegetables are food. I agree with micheal pollan, if you great grandma wouldn't recognize it as food, you probably shouldn't eat it.......nutella? not sure my great grandma would know what that is.
