Consumed: Media Reviews in 6 Words

Movies

The Simpsons Movie: gut-buster, silly, inferior to old episodes

Hairspray: infectious lead and jealous making clothes

Days of Heaven: gorgeously shot Canada/Texas; haunting story

Books

The Historian by Elizabeth Kostov: Hunt for still living Dracula. Page-turner

A Lesson before Dying by Ernest J. Gaines: thought provoking portrait of the South

No Country for Old Men by Cormac McCarthy: demon-villain that still haunts dreams

Simpsons Movie - a notch below one of the best episodes from seasons three through seven or so - Whacking Day, say, or Lisa the Vegetarian.

I was hoping for Benecio del Toro for Chigurh, but Bardem is an interesting choice.

Yikes.

Bardem may be really good as Chigurh. I can't wait for this movie, but for some reason the book really haunted me....

your reviews make me want to go to the movies and read. how do you find time for it all? I appreciate the info since I haven't seen or read any of those but have heard of them. if i'm lucky i'll see hairspray next week.

sarah-I ride the metro every weekday to and from work so I have 50 minutes to a hour each day to read. I also didn't read or see these in a week---

Trude-its fun!
