Do You Like Free?

Fox Searchlight is offering a slew (including a couple of showings in SLC) of free screenings for the film "Juno." Juno(Ellen Page) is a teenage girl pregnant by an adorable, but clueless Michael Cera (George Michael on AD). Juno finds "perfect" parents (played by Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman for her kid). The preview looks great, the soundtrack is full of songs by Kimya Dawson, and seeing Jason Bateman play the possible parent to Michael Cera's kid? Icing on the Juno Cake.

****In other Fox Searchlight news, "Darjeeling Limited" was better than what I hoped for. The opening scene is well worth the admission****

Mmm... don't know how I feel about this. It may just be a little too close to home. Let me know what you think about it when you see it.

Sweet! Thanks, Joy, for the heads up. If it's in anyway associated with "Thank You For Smoking", then I'm there.

How ironic, Kate and I just saw this as a preview for a movie we were attending. I can't wait to see it.
Thanks!

I've been looking forward to Juno for months. Hope it makes it to Toledo, eventually...

oooh, oooh, I want to see. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I can justify yet ANOTHER slc trip, just to see a movie. Sigh.

Are they going to be showing it in the main theaters anytime soon, and thus the dollar theaters at some point?

One day, Sherpa, you will be reduced to viewing your movies through the lens of dollardom, too. One day.

Laura-I'll let you know how the film is.
Brent-
Rae- Which filming are you going to see?
UT peeps- I just realized I'm flying into salt lake the day after the last screening in salt lake. It would've been cool to see y'all and catch a filming there.
Jules-I'm passing through Toledo on Friday!
NoSurf-Someday, someday. If that's all I get cursed with, I can deal with that. ;)
Jules-Has "indy" films made it to the dollar theaters? I haven't lived next in Utah since '01 so dollar theaters and I hardly know each other. I do miss them though.

I'm sorry you have to drive through Toledo! Haha...no dollar movies here in NW Ohio. In Nebraska (where I'll be heading after graduation) they have dollar movies, but indies never go there. I miss SLC sometimes...

There's nothing at all to see in Toledo?

We're going up to visit a friend who lives in the outskirts of Detroit.
