Fractured Prune Charity

Last Tuesday was Kelli's birthday, so to celebrate we went to the beach the next day. After spending a few hours getting pummeled by raindrops and the wind, we decided to go get something to eat. After making a u-turn upon spotting a Fractured Prune, we walked up to the donut establishment and read on the sign that it closed a hour earlier. We shrugged our shoulders and walked away, but a few seconds later the door opened and we were let in the place by the owner. We were told that there weren't any warm donuts left, but they had 6 donuts that they'd warm up in the microwave for us and top them off for free. We hit the donut jackpot. Anyway, I'm not a fan of cake donuts, but these were good. The toppings were great, and we were both really impressed by the generosity of the owner. She really didn't have to give us those donuts or even put toppings on them, but we got the royal treatment and it was awesome.

It was very nice of that donut shop owner to give you the royal treatment. I am sure she just wants you to be a happy, returning, customer someday....That really was nice of her.

TF and I are coming to New York this coming weekend and we will be going to Yankee Stadium to see a game.

Putz-Thanks.

eRin-Mine too.

Debra-The name has a cool story. The first Fractured Prune is located in Ocean City, MD and there was a local there named Prunella who loved sports. However, by the time she was in her 80's she kept getting hurt and breaking bones so she was lovingly nicknamed Fractured Prune. The owner loved that story so much he named his shop after her.

Lucy-Yup. Oh, have so much fun in NYC. What a great time to go! Be sure to see the waterfalls! And if you have time go eat Italian in Arthur Ave in the Bronx.
