So, on every other LDS (Mormon) blog I've read lately, I've found at least one post dedicated to the awesomeness of "
Seriously, So Blessed." Well, after trying to read the blog for the 5th time, I finally have to get this off my chest.....I really hate that blog. I like satire, I love Utah Mormon Culture satire, and I'm really not that sensitive from being a Utah Mormon at all, but these authors need to go back to school with the main character. The blog comes off as a mean-spirited rant, and somehow misses the satire boat. Anyway, if you like it--that's cool...I'm just not a fan.

Wow.....I have never even heard of this one.....Can you tell I steer clear of the LDS blogs, for the most part.
I'll have to check it out. But at first glance, I think I might agree with you. I am not sure I will be a fan.
The irony of this is now you have a post dedicated to it. :) Perhaps yours will balance out all those dedicated the supposed awesomeness.
Btw, I can't help but reading your blog because the title is just too similar to mine, lol.
I agree. I think it's annoying.
oh now i must check it out! i came across a "mormon blog" the other day that i thought was kind of cool - and you might like it too. it's more like single mormon women ranting, though - no satire and no meanness - just real observations.
confessionsofasinglemormongirl.blogspot - or something like that. i have a link on my blog.
Rae-I should elaborate. I tend to steer clear of the "bloggernacle," but I meant blogs of mormons. Yours would be a LDS blog, mine is a LDS blog.
Its lame.
Adam-Yes, I'm very much aware when I wrote it that I was drawing more publicity to that blog by mentioning it. I wanted to discuss it though, so there you go.
Sherpa is a nickname given to me by my best friend 5 years.
Cindy- Nice!
POS- I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the heads-up.
i like how you call me "pos" - it sounds like a tough knick name - it took me some thought to figure out where it came from. yep - i'm not always the sharpest.
i did check out that "ssb" blog and have to say i laughed a bit but it was nothing terribly original and if anything just reminded me of some sad stereotypes that i like to believe don't really exist.
Are you telling me you didn't laugh at ANY of it? Not even "Laman's terms"? That's what finally got me. Sure, it's dumb, but if you read any of the thousands of real blogs like that, it's eerily dead on. Maybe you just hate it because so many other people like it?
Laura- I don't "just hate it" because so many other people like it. That comment really made me laugh though. Thanks.
You nailed it, its a dumb blog. The blog is lame satire. Oh, I know of many blogs that its "attempting" to mock. I don't live under a rock.
If you like it, that's totally cool. That doesn't threaten my opinion. I respect you for yours and don't mind if you can't figure out why I don't like it. Differing viewpoints are a great thing, we all wouldn't want to be zombies. Well, Steve is, but that's another subject entirely.
POS-;) I have those moments too.
Yeah, you nailed it.
Grrrrr, Brains!
I found it a bit boring too.
I liked it at first, but the last couple posts have really gone downhill, like they're trying too hard.
PS SO loving your latest blog look. Sexy!
Gosh with so many hits there, I'm surprised they haven't put any advertising up... I know I would. :)
I think it's kind of like Fake Steve Jobs. The first few times, it's really funny. Then you start to expect the gags and move on. It's definitely "15 minutes of fame" quality.
i can't believe you don't like my blog!!!!!
I gotta say I concur. I read that blog for a while the other day, because a friend of mine liked it, and I just kept waiting for it to be funny. I just kind of sat there--my eyes getting glassy. It might be me, though, getting old. Or because I have always been pretty oblivious to the apparent power struggles between women peers.
stranger here: I haven't laughed out loud with it, but I am eerily drawn to it and especially the commenters. Many of the commenters are just what she is making fun of (me included in a way.) At first I hated the blog because I was worried that when people came to my blog they may be just making fun of me behind my back, but then as I started looking at a ton of her commenter's blogs I felt assured that I was not as bad as some in the all is well Mormon stereotype. I am glad to see someone who has a different opinion of this blog.
Steve-There you go, you Zombie.
eRin-;)
Laurie-Thanks
Anon-Who are you?
MJ-Those may be my problems too.
Laura-Feel welcome to post here whenever you'd like. Glad to see you stop by!
