Roach: An Update

I spoke with our Resident Manager on Saturday morning about the bugs, and she informed me that they aren’t cockroaches, they are mulch bugs/water bugs. She said as soon as the weather turns, we won’t see them again. She then said that the roaches we have in the building are the little guys (the ones we have traps set up for). Anyway, I did a search and Water bug is synonymous with the American Cockroach (the largest common roach), but wiki and other sites said these guys are intolerant to the cold, and are unlikely to cause large infestations because it takes them so long to develop. I’m not really comforted by it all but am glad I haven’t seen one for a week.

Oh, I know what bugs she is talking about. Yeah, I guess when the weather changes they may go away, but not something to look forward to next spring!
