She should get together with my ACT prep student who, last night when I was talking about current events said, "Who's John McCain?"

The 10 yr. old might be able to teach her something.

Wait, aren't both good? (as I gaze dreamily into my picture with Lenin, Marx, and Stalin) Haha!

That's fantastic. I hope he told her it was evolution!

McCain-She may. But what she might teach her is suspect.

Steve-Too bad I wasn't wearing my Communist party t-shirt.

Shannon- He totally did. Without missing a beat he said, "evolution" and then he started talking about revolution. He wasn't as clear about that. The 10 year old got a long history about the American Revolution, and not much about other world revolutions.

I really wanted to say, both are great!

i just read a student essay this morning where i'd assigned them to write about progress or revolution or both. one kid was doing a comparison contrast (poorly) and he finished with how he doesn't agree with revolution because he thinks we're smarter than monkeys. poor kid. he may be wrong.
